Forged in the light of shazza’s personal tussles with growth over the past year, Perfume: by shazza seeks to capture the timeless struggle of embracing change.
Made up of notes that clash harmoniously, the scent was built to reflect the highs and lows of self-evolution, all bottled up in one unforgettable fragrance built for everyday use.
TOP NOTES
A fear of change usually brings about a futile attempt to hold on to the present by pretending that all is well, even if it isn’t. The airy, floral notes of Lavender serve to convey this facade on a surface level. It represents a pretence that turns out to be only the tip of the iceberg, hiding a multitudinous array of heavy truths and realities.
HEART NOTES
One can find the more honest, heavier feelings at the core of the situation, usually indicating an inescapable need for growth and change. The sharp notes of Yuzu complemented by notes of linden blossom at the heart of the scent signify the bitter truth of having outgrown familiarity, and having to embrace an uncomfortable but necessary shift.
BASE NOTES
Beyond the story it was intended to serve, shazza also wanted the scent to reflect the person she seeks to be as an artist, given that this is a momentous and meaningful first-time endeavour for her. The warm and earthy notes of Vetiver, Vanilla Bean and Musk at the very base of the scent signify the singer-songwriter’s aim to stay grounded, authentic and true to herself as she learns to embrace change more readily at this stage in her life, both as an artist and as an individual.
