Match and enhance your favourite scents to help strengthen the intensity of certain notes
What is layering perfume?
It’s combining two or more fragrances together to form a new, personalised scent or layering other body products with fragrance to increase longevity.
Your skin type could be affecting your fragrance:
Yup, you read that right. Your skin type does affect how long your fragrance will last on skin. If you have drier skin, you've probably noticed that your perfume doesn't last as long on you as you would like. This is usually due to your perfume evaporating quickly off your skin.
Perfume tends to hold onto moisture, giving it stronger projection and usually a longer lasting scent. You can always use a moisturiser on your pulse points before your perfume to trap the fragrance.
How to layer?
You’re probably already doing this by using a scented body wash and scented moisturiser before applying your perfume. Start with a stronger scents such as deeper, warmer and spicier notes to avoid overpowering milder ones. Florals and clean scents should be used as subsequent layers.
Fragrance layering protip:
When layering fragrances, opt for fragrances within the same or complementary fragrance family. Once you’re feeling more confident, experiment! Try it out to find your favourite combinations.
